Happy Father’s day!

For the past three years, my incredible husband has earned a distinguished job title: Daddy! Now this husband of mine is hands down one of the most amazing daddy’s on the planet, however it breaks my heart to tell you that his hard work often goes unacknowledged. I am sure that this is the case with many father’s out there. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life it is easy to take this man for granted, and I do not acknowledge him as often as I should. So honey… today out of all days I want you to know that I see you, I notice every single tiny thing that you do, and I appreciate you even when the words go unspoken.

After having the triplets, I found myself telling everyone, “I don’t know how anyone has babies without a Robbie”. But seriously… how? Somehow, for some reason, God has graced me with a husband that will do absolutely anything for me and our family. He is truly the glue that hold his family together. This man shaved my legs while I was too pregnant to move, held me as we watched our babies in the NICU, he braids our daughters’ hair, washes pump parts and dishes constantly, snuggles and reads to our children, vacuums and cleans our house without complaint, picks up the slack while I have to pump 5 or more hours a day, wakes up at all hours of the night to care for these triplets… and I could go on and on. Honey, I see you and I appreciate you.. even when the words go unspoken.

In the various “mommy groups” I belong to, I have found that this generation of fathers is remarkably hands-on when it comes to raising their children. Especially when it comes to parents of multiples, I am always amazed to see how the fathers step up in a BIG way to take on this challenge alongside their wives. No longer is it solely the mother’s responsibility to raise and care for children. I am so thankful that my children will grow up making incredible memories with their father. It melts my heart every night when the twins ask Robbie for snuggles before bed time. To see the man I married painting our daughters’ nails or braiding their hair is something I never would have even dreamed of when I imagined the father of my children. So to all the daddy’s out there who love being involved in the upbringing of your children, don’t worry, we see you! To all the father’s who don’t get much time to rest between working your day job and your daddy job, we acknowledge you. To the dad’s who value making positive memories with your children, we see you. And to those of you who do everything in your power to set a good example for your kids, we thank you and we are so very proud of you. But most importantly, your children see you! They notice you looking at them instead of looking at your phone when you spend time together, they see you leaving for work and coming home tired, they hear the words coming out of your mouth, they hear the prayers that you pray, and they see how you love their mother and treat her with respect. That’s the funny thing about kids… they notice EVERYTHING!

Robbie, the positive attitude and atmosphere you bring to our family is truly what holds us together. You completely amaze me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for giving everything you have to our family- emotionally, spiritually, financially and physically. I cannot imagine raising these 5 precious angels without you, and I am so proud of the father that you have become.

To all the dads out there- thank you for taking on one of the world’s hardest jobs and making it look easy. You deserve to be celebrated today and everyday. But even on days that the things you do seem to go unnoticed, just know that your family is so thankful for you- even when the words go unspoken.

Meet the TRIPLETS

This week the triplets will be 2 MONTHS old, and we don’t even know where the time has gone! It is incredible how much they have changed in such a short time!

Though they are still very young, we absolutely are able to see some quirks and personality traits that are specific to each baby. What a blessing it will be to witness them grow into their individual personalities! I can’t wait to see them all grow into unique little humans!

Meet Mila (Baby A)

Our sweet Mila is laid back and predictable, which is great for a mom juggling 5 children. While I was pregnant, this girl was always defying the odds and measured ahead of schedule at every appointment. She was born weighing 4 lbs 14 oz. and was the strongest one in the NICU from day one. Now she is already weighing over 8 lbs! She NEVER cries unless she is hungry. She is attentive and observant, always looking around and studying her environment. She looks EXACTLY like her big sister Amari when she was a tiny baby, so Mama’s heart is especially weak at the sight of that little face. Mila is definitely a very special girl and we are the luckiest parents on the planet.

Meet Colette (Baby B, but supposed to be baby C)

Our Colette took me by surprise in the operating room when the doctor announced “Here comes baby girl B!” I sure was confused due to the fact that Baby B was a boy (Noah) throughout my entire pregnancy. But here Colette was, jumping in line in front of her brother. Colette is already smiling and becoming more animated. She has the chunkiest little cheeks that I could just kiss all day (and I do). Colette is a little firecracker and does not like to stick to schedules. She eats and sleeps whenever she feels like it, and almost never at the same time as her siblings. You can only imagine how fun that is! She likes to eat small amounts all day long instead of having “full feedings” and likes to keep us busy. The twins are especially drawn to Colette for some reason and they love to say her name. We are excited to see the amazing little person that Colette develops into.

Meet Noah (Now Baby C)

I could go on and on about this sweet little boy. Our ONLY boy! While we were in the NICU Noah struggled to hit milestones at the same rate as his sisters. He would take two steps forward and one step back every day. Until one day he decided that he was not about to be left behind while everyone else went home, so he got rid of all of those pesky wires and oxygen tubes literally overnight! Noah is very expressive with his face and has eyes that completely melt me. His favorite place is snuggling his mama, but he will never turn down snuggles from anyone! We feel so blessed to finally get our little boy. He will definitely live a unique life being surrounded by all of these girls! We can’t wait to see the man that he will become, but for now we are just enjoying our sweet boy.

I will make sure to post updates on these ever-changing personalities as they grow. We are thrilled to get to know them along side all of you. We feel incredibly lucky to share our family with you all, and humbled by the fact that you would take the time to get to know our little angels. Thank you so much for loving our family.

Love to you all,

The Sherwins
